Phinisi

Phinisi is a wooden vessel from South Sulawesi (Celebes). It is built on the beach with wood that come from the forest in Sulawesi or kalimantan (Borneo). Teak (tectona grandis sp) is the most preferred wood but Ulin (iron wood) and Bangkirai (yellow balau) is also used. Please note if it is made from tectona gradis, the wood are not from Kalimantan.
Phinisi is used both as transport and cargo as well.
