Balinese Woman

A Balinese woman, working on 'Lontar' (palm leaf) to make an ornament.
The ornament is then used as a decoration at the temple.
In the old time in Bali - as well as in Java - palm leaf was used to write a manuscript.

Street Food Stall

Street Food Stalls ... you can find them at all over the street in Indonesia. Some are stationary and some are mobile. The Mobile street food stall usually has a pair of wheels, so it is easy to move it over, or on the bike/motor bike. Some are just carried by the person who sells the food. They sell various food from fresh fruits such as 'rujak', noodle, nasi goreng, ice cream, siomay, burger, bakso or beefball. Some foods are sold pre cooked and others are cooked on order.

Bakul Kerak Telor

Bakul Kerak Telor iki aku gambar ing Kota Lama Jakarta, persis e ono ing komplek museum Fatahilah.

This sketch I made at Old Jakarta (Batavia). In an open public space in the front of old colonial building, now used as a museum, I found a man selling 'Kerak telor' a food made of an egg. Wearing a traditional cap 'kopiah' and enjoying his 'kretek', a cigarette with tobacco and clove, this man was waiting for some one who wanted his service.
